Quilting optionS

*My minimum quilting charge is $50. This means that a small quilt or wall hanging’s square inch price will be rounded up to the $50 minimum.

Edge 2 Edge - $0.025 per square inch

This covers most of my pantographs. Some designs are naturally more dense, have excessive back tracking, and/or require more precise re-alignment and may be subject to a small price increase. I will let you know if this is the case.

How to calculate the cost if the quilt top is 60” x 80”: 60 x 80 = 4800 x 0.025 = $120.

Digital Semi-Custom / Light Custom

I am not offering free motion quilting or rulerwork at this time, but can do semi-custom and light custom digital designs on a case by case basis. If you’re hoping for this option, send me an email and let’s talk!

*Semi- Custom starts at 3.5 cents per square inch and Light Custom starts at 6 cents per square inch and increase depending on the complexity of the designs..

Batting

I use and stock Quilters Dream high quality batting. I carry 4 different queen size rolls of 100% cotton select (medium thin), cotton supreme (thickest), bamboo, and wool. I have limited quantities and sizes of 80/20 or 70/30 blend, please ask for availability. Need something different? I can likely order what you need, please reach out!

Need help deciding? I have quilted samples of each and some combinations double batting.

Batting is a separate charge and is NOT included in the square inch price.

I charge for batting by the linear inch from queen rolls of batting except in the case of special orders. I will use only what is needed for your quilt (smallest side + a 5-6" margin) and charge per inch. If I trim your quilt, the left over batting is yours to keep.

For example, if you have a 60" x 80" quilt, I would cut 65" of the batting of your choice.

Quilt Trimming -

$0.05 / linear inch

Sometimes people do not have the space to trim their quilts. Let me know if you’d like this service added to your package!

*If choosing my binding services, quilt trimming will be included.

Binding Services -

$0.15 - 0.30 / linear inch

You can provide your own binding or you can provide the fabric for me to make straight grain binding for an additional fee ($30 minimum)

4 types of services:

1. Attach the binding onto one side only. You do the rest. ($0.15/inch)

2. Machine Binding ($0.30/inch)

3. Big Stitch Binding (as pictured) ($30/hour)

4. Hand binding / Invisible Stitch ($30/hour)

Path Apply Stitching

My longarm has the ability to apply an embroidery stitch to any design. With a large number of embroidery stitches to choose from, this add-on can really help your stitches stand out. It’s great for semi-custom and custom work!

Embroidery

My longarm has the ability to embroider! Have something in mind? Send me an email and I can get you a quote. Price will depend on the complexity of the design and number of thread changes.

*I do not own very many embroidery designs and am less likely to reuse your design. You will be responsible for the cost of the embroidery file (.dst) and will have full ownership of it once I’m finished (I will delete your file from my computer).

Additional Considerations

Thread

Thread is built into the cost. I use Glide thread only. I don't charge any extra fees for thread use, it's included in your square inch price. If you prefer multiple thread colors throughout the quilt, this will be an additional $5 per thread color change.

I also use pre-wound bobbins in order to ensure the most consistent tension throughout the quilt. Due to Glide’s limited pre-wound bobbins, I won’t always have the same color to match the top thread. I will do my best to match the top and bottom as closely as I can.

Photography

I'm not a professional photographer but I do enjoy taking photos. Quilt photography can be tricky and I do my best to take nice photos of your quilts and let your beautiful work shine! I would love to share these photos on my instagram page with your permission. If you wish to also share these photos on social media, I ask that you credit me for the photo and/or quilting. This extra service is included in your square inch price.

Shipping

Shipping your top and backing to me: I live in Colorado, USA, and would be happy to receive your top and backing by mail. I'd recommend sending your materials enclosed in some kind of sack or bag to protect against possible moisture in transit and then placed in a hard-sided cardboard box. Make sure the box is securely taped and labeled clearly. Return shipping: I will send your quilt back to you in the manner described above via PirateShip in order to ensure the cheapest shipping rates. Your package will come with $50 of insurance and a tracking number but please indicate on your intake form if you would like me to buy any additional insurance on your behalf. It's a great idea to insure your valuables against loss or damage while with the Postal Service, but I don't require it.

Other Costs

As mentioned above, batting is not included in the square inch price. I'm required by the State of Colorado to collect a 5% sales tax when purchasing batting from me. You will not be charged tax on my services.

Payment

After the work is complete, I will invoice you via WaveApp. I really do appreciate timely payments as that enables me to make arrangements for local pick up or mail your project(s) back to you right away. I accept Credit Card, Cash or Check.
